A Masterclass in Mediation Advocacy, 29 August 2024, 3.00 - 7.00 pm (SGT)

One's foray into mediation practice often does not start off by being a mediator, but by representing a disputant before a mediator.  But do you know how to advocate for your client during a mediation? Is the skillset required similar to that of being an advocate in arbitration or litigation? What are the factors that will make an impact on one's effectiveness as a mediation advocate?

“Many practitioners underestimate the crucial role played by mediation advocates in building an environment of trust and collaboration that enables parties to discover their best mediated outcomes.”  – Lim Tat, Masterclass Trainer

Observe the ‘do’s and ‘don't’s of mediation advocacy in this masterclass, designed by Lim Lei Theng, featuring commentary and audience engagement amidst an international commercial mediation demonstration. Through role-plays on the different segments of a mediation session, our masterclass trainers, Shanti Abraham and Lim Tat, both seasoned and experienced mediation advocates and mediators, will share on the skills and competencies every effective mediation advocate needs in their toolkit.

Jointly organised by the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, Singapore International Mediation Institute, and the Society of Mediation Professionals, we invite you to come and be treated to a memorable learning experience and a networking session over refreshments!
