Cessation of Mediation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Course as a SIMI RTP

With effect from 1 January 2021, the Mediation & Alternative Dispute Resolution course (the “Course”) as conducted by Regent’s University London (RUL) will no longer be a SIMI Registered Training Program (SIMI RTP). We wish RUL all the best in their future endeavors.

Relevant period of accreditation

Individuals who have completed the Course between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2020 and have since applied for SIMI accreditation on the SIMI Credentialing Scheme will continue to have their accreditation recognized where other requirements as set by SIMI have been met.

SIMI Partners are requested to recognize individuals who have completed the Course between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2020 for the purposes of endorsing an application to upgrade their credentials under the SIMI Credentialing Scheme.

New applications

New applications from individuals who have successfully completed the Course and are now seeking SIMI accreditation under the SIMI Credentialing Scheme must meet the following requirements:

SIMI Accredited Mediator Level 1:

  1. Applications will be accepted only if they have successfully completed the Course between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2020, both dates inclusive. Applications must be supported with the relevant documentation in writing.

SIMI Accredited Mediator Level 2, SIMI Accredited Mediator Level 3:

  1. Applications will be accepted only if they have successfully completed the Course between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2020, both dates inclusive; and 
  2. Relevant experiential requirements have been met. For further information on the experiential requirements, see here.

SIMI Certified Mediator:

  1. Applications will be accepted only if they have successfully completed the Course between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2020, both dates inclusive;
  2. Relevant experiential requirements have been met. For further information on the experiential requirements, see here; and
